Make or Break…..You Decide
It can make you or break you.
I’m sure you’ve often heard this phrase when given the choice of how you would allow the outcome to affect you in the end. The outcome actually depends on you and what you allowed it to do to you mentally which can actually cause a physical effect. As with any decision, the outcome can make or break us…..and even for those that we think will break us actually cause us to bend because at that point is when we begin to see just how strong we truly are. There was once a time when I knew of a young lady who attended college, had two children, one that included a newborn baby and she worked really hard. The young lady found herself in a custody battle with another member in the family regarding her child. Things got rough, life was hard and although it didn’t feel good going through, she got through. She cried, she asked why and many times she just simply didn’t understand but there was a purpose in the midst of her pain. The pain she felt pushed her into her purpose and she’s fulfilling it today but that would not have happened if she allowed the situation to break her.
Since most people don’t talk as much as they would without social media’s presence, we rely upon the status they post along with pictures to form an opinion about what life must be like. Isn’t it amazing how we only post the good moments? Of course no one wants the world to know their marriage is on the rocks, that their bank account is overdrawn, that the program they tried so desperately to get into declined them yet again or even that they are unemployed. The exception to everything previously mentioned is that we have the ability to control how we respond in situation. You have to make a choice to smile and know that you will get through. And like you, I find myself getting stressed sometimes, for reasons I will share in other stories as you journey with me but I remind myself that if I’ve gotten through rough times before, I will get through them again! Thank God for my friends and family. And even in the midst, I’m reminded no matter how hard it gets, Jesus will never leave me nor forsake me. The storms can’t last forever so I choose to dance in the rain! Remember, the situation you’re experiencing is temporary and the outcome depends solely upon you and God’s will for your life. It can only make or break you…….you’ve had to bend before, almost to the point of snapping but you snapped back. Bend but don’t you dare break.
